Who’s behind What2Buy
What2Buy is run by Joe, a UK gamer and streamer who has been playing games since around 2008. Joe works in esports as a Social Media Manager and previously worked at GIANTX, so he spends his working day around players, creators and the kit they use.
What we publish
Straightforward buying guides and ranked lists, starting with gaming and streaming setups. The site is organised into hubs – Gaming & Streaming, Desk & Office, Smart Home, Gift Guides and Grooming Tech – and new sections open only once they have properly researched guides in them. Each guide explains who every pick suits, the main pros and things worth knowing, and the key specs, with a link to Amazon UK so you can check the current price.
How we choose products
- We start from products that are available to UK buyers on Amazon UK and suit the job the guide is about (for example, protecting a Switch 2 or carrying it safely).
- We compare the details published by the manufacturer and on the Amazon UK listing – compatibility, what’s in the box, materials and stated features – and cite where specs come from.
- We match each pick to the person it suits best, and point out compatibility gotchas and trade-offs.
- Unless a guide says Joe has used a product himself, our picks are based on research, not personal use. Where Joe has used something himself, the guide will say so clearly.
- Brands can’t pay to be included, ranked higher or removed.
